My first mural was on the walls of the RBANMS school grounds. The concept was to make windows through which you could see the environment and activity that was happening inside the grounds through a different lens. I saw the ground as a living entity, of which the walls are the skin of it and you could see through it with these windows. My first Mural was that of a submarine window through
which you could see the activity on the other side as happening underwater. I
chose the sport which the kids most usually play that is football and thought
of relatable elements to the real world to replace it with in that environment. So the field was replaced with a huge blue whale on which these kids are playing on, the blow fish represented the ball; the submarine a plane, the oxygen pumps their bags and the skate fish represented a bird.
The theme of my next window was space. The activity that the kids were playing was cricket but the environment was in space on the surface of the moon. This window was much wider to show the vastness in the surface of the moon. I then made some stencils for the stars. The thought I always kept in mind for this piece was to maintain the contrast in colors, I did not want any element to look left out visually. For the moon I used the texture of the plaster to my advantage and made a few craters with it.
